Our Board and Staff

Meet the members of the Marie’s Mission Board of Directors and Staff, the volunteers who keep us running

Sarah Galvin

For me, Marie’s Mission is an act of love. I’m not only the Executive Director but also Marie’s mom therefore my work with Marie’s Mission about remembrance and honoring my daughter. I do this by serving the youngest and most vulnerable members of our community. This is done through providing resources that assist with proper early childhood development and doing what we can to assist in helping the babies of our community be safe and healthy.

My involvement in Marie’s Mission is very personal. It began in grief, a way to cope with the loss of my granddaughter, it has become something much more. The Mission gives me an opportunity to improve the life of a child in one small way.

I volunteer with Marie’s Mission because it is an honor to work closely with families in the Worcester community and support families and children during such an important stage of growth. I love being able to welcome new families to the area, meet a critical public health need, and see children in our community thrive. As a UMass Chan student, it has also been incredibly meaningful to discuss health topics with families and continually refine our public health outreach based on community interest.

My reason for volunteering at Marie's Mission comes from a life time of loving and caring for babies. That's what led me to a 28+ year career in Early Childhood Education. Babies are so very vulnerable and are dependent upon their parents or caretakers. Diapers are part of caring for babies, especially when they have a bad diaper rash and there's not enough money to change them as needed. Jane Leary

For me Marie’s Mission was my way of recovering from the tragic loss of my sister at a young age. I have been heavily involved from day one, donating the very first box of Diapers, and watching this Mission grow as I have grown up. I have gone from that firs donation to founding the literacy program, to the board of directors. Marie’s mission has allowed me to give back to the community in a meaningful way, while carrying on the memory of my sister.
